I’ll be honest, I LOVE kid clothes. I will squeeze into the larges and extra larges. I’m 20, but I definitely make sure I can still rock some kid clothing pieces! I know I probably look like a five year old half the time, but I promise I do try to at least look ten.
I truly love love love the fun prints, bright colors, innocent styles! Its awesome and why not wear them while I can until I actually have to buy them for my actual kids (definitely not ready for that!)
Hahaha, so to see how I kind of style these things, here are some outfits I put together that each include a piece from the kid’s section, or just kind of went with that super bright and colorful kiddy theme I went with here!
1. Graphic Tees!
Here is a graphic tee (Jcrew), paired with either a red/orange skirt (Old navy) or a pair of lavender pullover shorts (Jcrew girls) with or without a jean jacket
2. Poppin’ Shorts
I love these royal blue shorts from Jcrew crewcuts (girl’s section) — they literally go with everything and anything. They even add such a fun pop of color to every outfit! I always love to top off the outfit with beaded necklaces that you can make yourself (refer to my previous posts on wooden beads)
All four of these tops were from Jcrew Crewcuts
Green striped henley (Jcrew Crewcuts), Yellow striped and turquoise striped (Jcrew), Neon baseball tee (American Eagle)
3. Fun and Fruity
Here are some fun summer outfits that just yell out breeezy, color, and fruit!
Zebra tee (Hollister), Patterned shorts (Old Navy Girls), Striped floral (Gap Kids), Watermelon and Orange tees (Aeropostale)
4. Lemonade please
These are some more “nice casual” breezy summer tops with some nice neon or pastel colors and yellows!
Yellow pintucked tank (Jcrew), Yellow melon tank (Target Girls), Blue plaid (Old navy), Coral printed (Jcrew crewcuts Factory)
5. Colors that hug
These are some warmer colors for the fall
Hedgehog top + blue cardigan (more pops of colors!) (Target Girls, Jcrew), Purple polkadot (Target Girls), Patterned neon top (Jcrew Crewcuts), Striped tee (Gap Factory)
6. Cozy and colorful
These are warmer/sweater weather tops!
Striped floral sweater (Target Girls), Alpaca/Llama long sleeve (Target Girls), Flamingo sweater (Jcrew Crewcuts Factory), Pineapple Sweater (Gap Kids)
Here is just a little play on polkadots!
You can either pair it with a pop of color shorts! Or with a nice neutral cardigan depending on the mood and maturity feel or level 🙂 (And don’t forget to top it off with a beaded necklace!)
Coral polkadot (F21), White cardigan (Gap), Blue shorts (Jcrew Crewcuts)
8. Flowy and Flowery
Summer dress (Day or Evening) — Throw on a flowy and fun summer dress and toss on a jean jacket when it gets a little chilly in the evening!
Dress (Old Navy Girls)
9. Bright, Neon, Colorful Feet!
Top off a bright outfit with some bright shoes and accessories!
